3 Tips for Healthy Sleep Habits

According to the American Association for Cancer Research, sleep deficiency may counteract the immune, hormonal, and metabolic benefits received when regular exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle or cancer treatment plan.

Not getting enough quality sleep can cause an imbalance in cortisol and melatonin – two of the hormones that affect your cancer risk.To get the full benefits of a good night’s sleep, it’s important to develop healthy sleeping habits!

First, make sure to avoid alcohol, carbohydrates, and sweets for at least 8 hours before bedtime.

Next, you can turn to meditation and prayer to reduce stress and calm your heart and mind.

Finally, create a schedule and stick to it! Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day can help you get the quality sleep you need for optimal health.
